A Girl and A Boy 2“I just don’t understand,” I said, resting my head on my Spanish text.  It was very hard to work with another language when you only spoke one… and you weren’t very smart. I was both and definitely the latter.  The only reason I was taking Spanish was because I wanted to go to college for design.  “It’s really easy when you get a hang of it,” he smiled, and took my hand.  “Try it again.  How about translating ‘Julia’s hair is very ugly’?”  “Okay… um, Julia’s pelo es muy gordo?”  He laughed.   A Girl and A Boy 2

A Girl and A Boy 1There was a bouqet of white roses and baby's breath lying inside my locker. I should've known. It was St. Valentine's day and there was no way of getting away from recieving something from my boyfriend.  I automatically felt embarrassed. All I had for him was a box of candy hearts. You knw, the ones that have tiny sayings on them? Like "Call Me" and "Be Mine" He said he liked those, and, all of a sudden, he gives me a dozen of roses.  There was a card, too, and I carefully pulled open the glued flap. Inside was a poem written in a perfected form of his handwriting.
